A friend introduced me to Sara Barner as we were looking for inspirations for web designs. Meanwhile while agreeing that yes, her site is gorgeous, I fell in love with her Alder bag for all its simplicity and fine materials. It's that kind of love that makes you wake up at night, roll over and grab the photo that sits on your nightstand. And that kind of love that wakes you up in the morning and says " get up and get to it if you ever want to afford a $400 bag." Oh sweet dark love.

A brighter side

   I just received the sad news that Domino magazine is closing its doors - just one more issue and that's it. The only thing at this moment that can make me feel better is word that there is a new bakery in town - Batter Bakery. I am headed there in the next few to nuture my sad soul.  Ummm cookies....

Oh sun why did you leave so soon?

Well, all of us Bay Area friends sure were spoiled for the last several days. I couldn't help get a little pouty when I awoke to the rainy, chilly day. I had been day dreaming about wearing cute little springy numbers, soaking up day cocktails and riding my vintage Motobecane (but of course, not in that order). Now it is only January and we certainly have a few more months of winter and I have some more time at the gym to prepare for what will be my awesome new warm weather wardrobe. While searching through some old files, I found this great post from one of my favorite fashion inspiration - Snail and Cyclops. This photo of her with another of her great vintage finds totally mirrors what I hope from this upcoming summer. I won't be blond but I will be sporting some really great duds.

I think these walls describe how happy and grateful I feel today. I am loved my some of the most amazing people in the world and that is a pretty damn good way to be.

oh here it comes..

Yep, I made it another year and am two days away from starting my 36Th year on this lovely planet. Can't say I haven't been a little blue about the upcoming number and I have been searching for ways to relish it as I rightfully should. Andrea of Hula Seventy who I am just smitten with totally inspired me to start a new birthday tradition. She lately posted a list in celebration of the new year and her 38 years of enjoyment. It consists of thirty seven things that she experienced this past year, new and random with of course, incredible photos to document each event. So I am going to be a copy cat and do the same thing, eventually binding each year's account into small books. What a great way of appreciating what the past year has offered you! I love that lady.

Sweet porcelain

After moving into my new place, I have realized that I am well stocked in the area of decorative art. Answer to this - add more shelving because these little porcelain beauties may need not be missed. How adorable is that little hairy chested number?

A little extra something

Super cute flower corsage on a pretty ribbon. I love the idea of wearing it as a belt against a simple dress. They are available in a couple different colors and types of flowers- the spider gerbera is my favorite. By Grey Goat

Sale Time

I love this time of year where my patience dutifully pays off and I find that perfect piece discounted to a "ok, I can get that because it on sale for crying out loud!" price. Ampers and Designs has some great after holiday deals. This bracelet is so much fun and inspired by one of my favorite television personalities- Tim Gunn. Isn't he a dapper guy?

A beginning of a new year

A friend mentioned a project she was participating for the new year called 29 Day Giving Challengeand I have decided to give it a try. Today is my first day and I look forward to the adventure of getting out of my own head during the winterly January month instead spending it doing one good thing a day for someone else. That's right I am jacking up the karma points this month.

I am wishing you all a successful, happy healthy upcoming year. 2008 wasn't too great for most people I know but I am optimistic that this one will be much better. Love to you all
